A Film about joys of cinema.

La Nuit américaine (1973) directed by François Truffaut

La Nuit Americaine is an exuberant celebration of the joy of filmmaking, The title refers to the effect of night in a day.Truffaut has resourcefuly tackled the most haunted question "Is Cinema superior to life".The film is an engaging drama about the people involved in making a film. Truffaut has declared on numerous occasions that real incidents experienced by him were the material for this film.La Nuit Americaine is a meaningful film about the hardships one must endure while making a film.Making a film about a film is a complicated task but Truffaut succeeded with ease in creating an oeuvre of exceptional beauty.Cinema is shown as a big family in which Truffaut as film director Ferrand has to take care of everything including the bad mood of his players.La Nuit Americaine is an honest film which gives you an idea about the fact that personal problems don't matter,if you are taking part in a film.It is the cinema which rules.Truffaut wished that the public would love to watch this film as much as he enjoyed making it.La Nuit Americaine, which Truffaut dedicated to Lilian and Dorothy Gish, was one of the last films to have been shot at the famous Victorine studios

A sad tale of doomed love !!!

La Femme d'à côté (1981) directed by François Truffaut

La Femme d'a Cote shows violent emotional state of two melancholic lovers.Truffaut wanted to reveal the extreme steps of frustrated love.It is a brilliant story of passion set in the provincial french town of Grenoble which shows that love is the only thing that is universal.Bernard and Mathilde are truly the perfect lovers Truffaut wished to exploit in his film. There is a sense of urgency in their love affair as in a place where all the people know each other,it is highly improbable that any love affair can remain a secret.La Femme d'a Cote has agreeably given an idea about small town charm wherein Truffaut has vividly portrayed all the minor details of provincial life.Truffaut, while filming La Femme d'a Cote, hoped that the viewer would not be tempted to take sides in order to call one wrong and the other wrong but would love them both as he has loved them.Truffaut will remain the only filmmaker who has mastered the art of human emotions.La Femme d'a Cote gives an impression of an affecting account of human foibles by illustrating how a happy married man sacrifices everything for trivial passion.

Love on the run is also a famous French song by Alain Souchon.

L'Amour en fuite (1979) directed by François Truffaut

Antoine Doinel ends his marital existence by divorcing his wife Christine.By chance,he meets all the significant people who helped him to shape his destiny. These encounters guide him to revive a number of bygone events. He is able to find happiness again by falling in love with Sabine.Although dubbed maudlin by certain inconsiderate critics,L'Amour en fuite remains a light romantic work filled with hilarity and empathy. This last film in the Antoine Doinel series is a fantastic trip down memory lane for Truffaut and Antoine Doinel fans.Truffaut's alter ego Antoine Doinel is a veritable emotional wreck as he needs all kinds of women for support.Antoine's past is inextricably linked to his present. All these women have positively been a part of Truffaut's life too. They know each other well and plot Antoine's downfall.Truffaut has made competent use of flashbacks to evoke memories of the past. Scenes of the past make one feel like watching two different films at the same time.Everyone feels that Antoine did not try his best to save his marriage.Viewers' sympathies will always be with Antoine as despite his faults,he is a charming guy.Truffaut has ably shown how important it is to love and be loved.
