Good comic tandem :Rowan Atkinson and John Malkovich

Johnny English (2003) directed by Peter Howitt

In Johnny English nothing goes right for the character whose role is played by Rowan Atkinson. It is for the first time that I have seen Rowan Atkinson step out of his eternal "Mr Bean" mold and act. What an acting he has done.Just one word comes to mind :superb performance. As far as John Malkovich is concerned as he has strong European connections,he has played the malicious Frenchman's role with great dexterity.Watching him converse in Gallic accented English is an act of true pleasure. The leading ladies are good too especially the singer Nathalie Imbruglia. Although it has been a while that Anglo-French enmity has ended but this film has given it a new twist by depicting the wicked person determined to wreak havoc on England. It is a pity that no one has come forward to make a sequel to this film. When that happens it would definitely turn out to be a successful film.
